Intermediate Basket Weaving: Large Bread Basket
Looking to grow your basket weaving skills? This one is for you!
Join us for a night of introduction to basket weaving with Amy Zinaman of Beach Tree Baskets. Amy brings her knowledge and love of vintage-inspired baskets for the home to Folklore. Each participant will create their own custom large bread basket, makes a beautiful focal point for centerpieces, in front of a fireplace, or on a larger table or porch.
Amy will provide all the tools and materials needed.

Back by popular demand, join us at Folklore Flowers for a hands-on workshop that reimagines what flowers can do.
We’ll explore the process of bundle dyeing—a technique that uses steam to release pigment directly from plant material onto cloth. It’s equal parts chemistry and surprise, with each piece revealing its own layered composition of color and form. As an added benefit, this method uses far less water than a traditional dyebath.
This time, you’ll begin by choosing your base: a 100% cotton bandana, either left crisp and white or naturally dyed in advance—soft pink from sappanwood or a pale blue from indigo. From there, you’ll build your design using botanicals and pigments, folding, wrapping, and binding your piece before it transforms in the steam.
When you unwrap your bundle, you’ll see the direct imprint of the plants—shapes, color transfers, and subtle variations that make each piece completely one of a kind.
No experience needed—just curiosity and a willingness to experiment. Join us and see what unfolds. What a thoughtful way to mark Earth Day!
FEE: Your $85 fee includes a scoured and mordanted cotton tote bag and a variety of fresh and dried flowers and extracts and light refreshments.

Continue exploring the art of visible mending in this hands-on workshop focused on expanding your repair skills across different types of fabric. In this class, we’ll begin with a review of the interior patch technique used to mend woven fabrics like denim—making this workshop welcoming and accessible for those who are new to visible mending as well as those who attended the first session.
From there, we’ll move into new territory: learning how to patch and reinforce knit fabrics. Knits present their own unique challenges and possibilities, and you’ll learn thoughtful, practical techniques for repairing holes while honoring the stretch and structure of the fabric. As always, we’ll approach mending as both repair and creative expression, using color, line, and pattern to turn wear into intentional design.
Whether you’re repairing well-loved jeans, your favorite t-shirt , or simply building confidence with needle and thread, this workshop invites you to slow down, learn useful skills, and see your garments with fresh eyes. No prior experience is required.
All materials—including patches, thread, needles, and fabric samples—will be provided.

This hands on experience will provide insight into selecting the best suitable plants, designing with confidence and caring for your planter to keep it thriving all season long. Ideal for both beginners and garden enthusiasts, this workshop offers practical knowledge and creative inspiration in a welcoming and supportive setting.
Each participant will leave with a terracotta planter, including all materials.

Folklore Flower Co. is excited to welcome the Madison Newcomers Club back again- and we have a fun interactive bouquet bar this time. We’ll provide fresh, beautiful blooms, and guidance to help you create a custom bouquet to take home.
Terrarium Workshop
Join us for a Succulent Terrarium Workshop. Each guest will make their own custom terrarium with mixed succulents (super easy to care for!) complete with a mixed succulents and miniature decorations. We'll guide you through every step, from selecting the perfect plants to choosing the right soil accents. Enjoy a cocktail and get creative! By the end of the workshop, participants will have a beautiful and self-made terrarium to proudly display in their office or home, bringing a touch of nature indoors.
Botanical Bundle Dye Workshop with Tocco Studio
